We welcome field trips, birthday parties, home school groups, photo shoots, weddings, baby showers & special events.

Please call the garden at (941) 330-1711 for further information and prices.

Nature Add-Ons  for Special Events

Make your visit extra special with activities found only at The Children’s Garden!  We ask that reservations for add-on activities are made two weeks in advance.  In addition, we request a deposit of 50% to be applied towards crafting supplies.  Our add-on activities are best suited for groups of 10 to 20.  Prices listed do not include cost of admission.

Herbology 101
Learn all about herbs and their culinary properties in our garden. Each child will plant an herb seed to take home and watch grow.  Then the feast for the senses starts… we will be making herbal butter to eat with fresh bread to enjoy. This program teaches the magic of gardening & a farm to table experience. It smells so good, too!  Cost is $5+tax per person

Bug Hunts This Way
Learn about all the creepy, crawly & flying bugs in the Garden & some interesting facts you didn't know about bugs! Each child will get to embellish their bug catcher cup for the bug hunt (everyone can keep one plastic bug for their cup). After the bug hunt everyone’s craft project will be their own “Bugs In a Jar” sheet to finger or thumb print each different bug. This is a great keepsake for parents! Education, crafts & bug hunt equal lots of fun exploring nature.  Cost is $5+tax per person

Calling All Dragon Lovers!
We will gather in our amphitheater area for a reading of our book “Snuffy the Beautiful Dragon” written by the garden’s creator Joan Marie Condon. Find out how she came to reside in The Children’s Garden, how did she get her magical colors & what does she like to eat! A special Snuffy color sheet will be handed out at the picnic table with the use of markers & colored pencils. Then each child will get to make a “Fruity Oop” (fruit loops) necklace to eat which is Snuffy’s favorite snack. Each child will get to choose one filled dragon egg from Snuffy’s nest!   Cost is $5+tax per person.

Bird Nest Making & Cheerio Bird Feeders
We are birdwatching in the garden for this special program about our feathered friends. What makes birds unique & what is our Florida state bird? If you were a bird, how would you build your nest, and what nature finds would you use? Each child will get a little paper bird nest to construct their nests & then fill an egg with bird seed & dirt to plant at home. To feed our birdie friends, we will make a pipe cleaner bird feeder with cheerios to hang in a tree.   Cost is $5+tax per person.

Fairy Wands & Fairy Soup
We are using our imagination to make special wands to summon our fairy & elf friends in the garden. Stars on a beautiful nature stick to color & embellish with ribbons & jewels help the magic happen! Then, it is on to the recipe to make our Fairy Soup with herbs & flowers, bubble mix & a sparkly bubble wand to blow those beautiful Fairy Wishes!   Cost is $10+tax per person.

Letterboxing

Victorian geo-caching, but much more crafty. Each person receives their own sweet journal filled with paper & the materials to make their own stamp. The fun clue hunt through the garden takes them to hidden Letterboxes so that they can use the stamp from each location for their journal & then they use their handmade stamp to stamp the hidden letterboxes. This is such a fun and creative craft for those who seek the thrill of the hunt!   Cost is $10+tax per person.

Dragons Love Tacos

… and so do we! Live reading of the book in our amphitheater and then we are crafting our tacos out of nature finds so let’s get creative! What can we use as tomatoes or lettuce? Our snack will be walking tacos & a small bottle of dragon juice!   Cost is $10+tax per person.
